Jamey Davidson brings a wealth of business knowledge to the Genesis Board. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Psychology 1995, Jamey started his career at a “pre-IPO” start-up company known as CarMax, where he progressed quickly through the ranks to Purchasing Manager. Jamey opened a new CarMax location in Arlington, Texas, which became the most profitable CarMax store in Texas in 1999.
Jamey moved back to the Richmond area in 1999 to pursue a career in financial planning, starting as a Financial Specialist with First Union Bank before joining Legg Mason in 2002 as a registered Financial Advisor. Jamey ultimately completed the rigorous education, examination and experience requirements to earn the Certified Financial Planner™ professional designation. Jamey currently is a First Vice President at Davenport & Company LLC, a local Richmond independent financial services firm.
Jamey and his family are active members in the Richmond area community, attending North Star Community and helping with the youth group, music ministry and the local recovery community (The Healing Place & CARITAS). Jamey is passionate about continuing education and community involvement. He is a volunteer instructor for the Lifelong Learning Institute of Chesterfield (LLI) where he has served as Treasurer, currently serves on the Board of Directors, and manages the LLI Endowment Fund. Jamey also has served as Trustee on the Board of Directors and as a volunteer on the Bike MS committee for the Virginia-West Virginia Chapter of the National MS Society.
